All of my computers are Linux (Ubuntu) and have been for at least two years.
I didn't do it for gaming as I was never that much of a gamer.
The biggest reason I did the switch was because Linux is so much more stable than any version of Windows, especially in the Anti-Virus/Firewall department. I don't have to worry much about virus' at all and Firewall in Linux is pretty much set it and forget it.
Linux updates go much smoother and easier than on Windoze, plus, if you get into trouble, you can just google it and get yourself out of trouble.
Software Center in Ubuntu is a "Godsend" when it comes to installing software. Works much better than "Add/Remove Software" in Windoze. Synaptic Package Manager is also still good.
I do like wine, haven't tried Cadega and tried Crossover once, but I can't afford it (being that I'm not working again), though I don't use many windows programs since you can pretty much do anything (other than gaming) in Linux that you can in windoze...plus more...for free!...
