Women in the situation you described may not see an issue with trading sex (in whatever form- be it in the boundaries of a relationship or not) for lodging, because it's acceptable. women are historically forced into a position where sex = money, goods, or services. Men are not, because they hold the power. Therefore when a woman trades sex for something it's seen as okay, but when a man does, it's not.
