What is the point of having an [almost-]always-internet-connected "smart"phone if you have to connect it to your PC to fetch new published calendar entries from the internet?
what phone do you have? what phone can do magical updates? I am sorta in the market for a new phone....I have an HTC tilt...I am becoming not so happy with it these days. Almost maybe ready for a new phone. NOT and Iphone tho....
Pretty much every smartphone except the iPhone can pull calendar synchronization off the internet. You don't even need 3G, those updates are tiny, work just fine on old EDGE phones. Just to name a few... any phone running Android or Windows Mobile can do it.
Google has a service (http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/topic.py?topic=14252) that will auto-sync up to 5 of your calendars with your iPhone calendar. Unfortunately for me, I have more than 5 calendars, so I use the app NemusSync. I actually jailbroke my iPhone just for that one.
