Roommate drama continues

So, the unwelcome housemate has decided to make us take all the necessary steps instead of leaving quietly. He is one of five leaseholders, so we can't just kick him out. The next step is a small civil suit, which is going to be time consuming and annoying. Does anyone have any advice or hints at this point?
