Guess who got himself *employed*?
Jul. 29th, 2008 06:23 pmSunday I submitted a resume to a craigslist ad for a helpdesk position. They emailed me a little "have you ever actually seen a computer before?" test, which my pal Google helped me ace. I had a phone interview Monday, 2 real interviews and a short troubleshooting skills assessment today. Arrived home to find a job offer in my inbox, $12/hr starting training this Thursday, benefits accruing immediately and available in 90 days. They have free medical/dental, and reimburse for health club (YMCA here I come) and parking or MARTA. Kick Ass.
The actual job is remote support for law firms, generic IT stuff ranging from "I can't figure out how to page break a word document" to "My internet doesnt work" to "The printer is on fire". This is their website.
Oh, and did I mention their awesome compensation raise system? I get evaluated every month based on some subjective and some objective criteria, my score dictates my bonus, up to 10% of my base pay for the first 6 months of a year, 25% for the second 6 months. I made sure to ask how realistic that goal is, and the average is 70% of the max bonus. The real kicker... Each year's bonus is the next year's base pay raise!
